Siegfried Haenicke (8 September 1878 – 19 February 1946) was a highly decorated General der Infanterie in the Wehrmacht during World War II who commanded the XXXVIII. Corps. He was a recipient of both the Pour le Merite and Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Pour le Merite was the highest military order of the German Empire. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Siegfried Haenicke was captured by Soviet troops in 1945, and died in 1946.
