Personal life
He hails from a simple middle class Gujarati family. His wife's name is Reshami who was also his classmate at the National School of Drama. They have one daughter named Niyati and one son named Parth.
Education
On the insistence of his mother he studied and cleared the exam for the chartered accountancy course of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. However, this was not something that interested him and he subsequently joined the National School of Drama where he also met his future wife. Reshami
Career
He has been part of the comedy show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah which airs on the SAB TV channel. He plays the role of Patrakar Popatlal, an ageing bachelor who works as a crime reporter for a newspaper called "Toofan Express". His constant efforts to find a bride for himself results in funny situations on the show. He is cynical in nature.He always carries an umbrella with him.
He was part of the show Sukh By Chance where he played the character of Dheeraj Mehta. The show originally aired on Sony TV between November 10, 2009 – May 13, 2010.
He played the part of Rajendra Jayantilaal Joshi a.k.a. Raju in the show Jasuben Jayantilaal Joshi Ki Joint Family which aired on NDTV Imagine between January 21, 2008 – March 28, 2009.
