Mohammad Shukor Dato' Zainal Abidin (born (1981-03-09)9 March 1981) is a property developer and entrepreneur. He is a member of the board of directors of SCRL Properties Sdn Bhd, a property development, management and investments company based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He was formerly the owner of Seri Chenang Resort & Spa Langkawi, an award-winning luxury boutique resort in Langkawi.

Career
Shukor started his career at CIMB Investment Bank Berhad as a management trainee in 2005 after returning from England. He subsequently became a Corporate Finance Executive in the Corporate Finance Department of the bank where he worked the investment banking industry until 2007. He returned to England to further his studies the same year. In 2009, Shukor and two other partners, incorporated SCRL Group Sdn Bhd, a construction company. He was appointed as the Group managing director, overseeing the development and construction of various projects under the company's portfolio. In 2011, he was appointed as a Director of SCRL Properties Sdn Bhd. He was tasked to take charge of a merger and acquisition exercise involving the acquisition of the hospitality consultant firm, which owns the Butlers & Groomers brand name and trademark, as well as its businesses. In 2012, after extensively being involved as the Project Director and the Lead Interior Design Consultant in a resort project in Langkawi, Seri Chenang Resort & Spa Langkawi opened its doors to the world. The media launch was held on 21 June 2012 in Kuala Lumpur and the official opening was held at the resort in Langkawi on 30 June 2012, officiated by former Prime Minister of Malaysia Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad. On 30 April 2014, he resigned as Director of the resort company when his company SCRL Properties Sdn Bhd disposed off all its shareholding in Seri Chenang Resort Langkawi Sdn Bhd to a third party, whilst legally retaining the Seri Chenang Resort & Spa Langkawi brand names and its related businesses for an undisclosed amount. He subsequently resigned as the Group managing director of SCRL Group Sdn Bhd and disposed off all his shareholdings in the company. Shukor remains as a Director of SCRL Properties Sdn Bhd.
Early life
Shukor was born in Assunta Hospital to a former school teacher, and an architect, raised in the suburbs of Petaling Jaya in Selangor Darul Ehsan.
Education
Shukor attended Sekolah Sri Petaling for his primary education even when his family moved to their new family home in Shah Alam, in the late 80s. In 1993, he was enrolled at Sekolah Menengah Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, nearer to his home after perpetually being late to school given the distance, traffic and road conditions at the time.
English education
In 1996, at fifteen years of age, Shukor was sent to England to attend Phoenix College, a school in Surrey, United Kingdom for his GCSEs. Shukor was accepted to study A Levels at Brighton College, a Boarding School in Brighton, East Sussex, continuing a family tradition. He was a full boarder at School House (formerly known as Chichester School House), where most International pupils stayed. There, he took part in various sports, school and extra-curricular activities, and the school as a member of the Model United Nations delegate, and as a member of the EU Parliament Delegation to Brussels. In his boarding house, he was one of the 4th Form Prep Supervisor, and was honoured the Chichester School House Effort Recognition Award in the senior year.
Sports
Shukor played rugby and football during the autumn and winter months, and tennis, badminton and cricket during the spring and summer months. He was a member of the Brighton College Lawn Tennis Association and the Brighton College Badminton Club. He enjoyed horseback riding on the East Sussex Downs during his free time.
Extra curricular activities
Shukor was a member of the design team and crew for the College Play: Fiddler on the Roof and a member of the School IT Development and Website Management Team. He also took part in the School's Industrial Challenge Week, organised for Sixth-formers.
Charity
He volunteered in the School's Community Service Unit, visiting old folks homes around Brighton and Hove, keeping them company and running errands for them. He also took part in the School's 20km Charity Cross-Country run to raise money.
Old Boys' Association
Shukor is a lifetime member of the Old Brightonians Association.
Gap year
Shukor enrolled in an International Diploma in Computer Studies course back home in Malaysia at Sunway College after finishing high school in 2000.
Bachelor's Degree
After obtaining the Diploma, he then pursued a BA (Hons) International Business Administration degree at Northumbria University, Newcastle upon Tyne, England, and graduated in summer of 2004.
Master in Business Administration (MBA)
Shukor obtained an MBA from Surrey Business School, University of Surrey in 2008 after completing the two final modules at Reims Management School, outside Paris, in France.
Personal life
Shukor is the youngest of five siblings, and the only son. He is a PADI-certified scuba diver since 1996 and has interests in Aviation and Travel industry.
