Shubhada Gogate (Shubhada Sharad Gogate Marathi: शुभदा शरद गोगटे) (born 2 September 1943) is a Marathi writer from Maharashtra, India.

Biography
Shubhada Gogate is second daughter of Mr. Dinkar Damodar Ranade and Mrs. Sarojini Dinkar Ranade of Nasik. Her name before marriage was Pushpa Ranade (Marathi: - पुष्पा रानडे). She never thought she would become a writer one day, however she did write small stories even in her childhood. She always loved to read and read a lot of Marathi as well as English books, magazines and circulars from childhood thanks to her father, who himself was a keen reader. She completed her B.Sc. from Nasik in 1962 and worked as a school teacher for a few years.
It was really lucky for her that she got married to Sharad Gogate in 1966, who was in the book-selling field and then got into book publishing. Being a bookseller and publisher’s wife and having keen interest in her husband’s work, she got to learn a lot about books – what goes into making and selling them.
She started writing in 1981-82 and her first novel Yantrayani (Marathi: यन्त्रायणी) was published in 1983, first in the monthly magazine Naval in 2 parts and then in the book form. This novel went on to win her the Government of Maharashtra state’s award for best novel in the Science Fiction category.
She wrote Khandalyachya Ghatasaathi (Marathi: खन्डाळ्याच्या घाटासाठी) – an historical novel based on the construction and then extension of the first railway line in India, which ran from Mumbai and passed through the Sahyadri hills to go to Pune. This was a novel which was in a completely different genre than what she was writing in till that point and did involve a lot of research. This novel was published in 1992, and went on to win the Best Novel award from Marathi Sahitya Parishad as also the Mrinmayi puraskar that was given by Mr. G.N. Dandekar, the famous Marathi writer.
National Book Trust of India came out with a book of Science Fiction stories in English which were translations of selected science fiction stories from various Indian languages called It Happened Tomorrow. The book had 19 stories in all and Shubhada’s story in this collection was titled “Birthright”.
