Shougang Corporation also known as Shougang Group (Chinese: 首钢集团) is one of China's largest steel companies. Based in Beijing, its operations have been moved out of the city prior to the Olympics due to concerns over pollution.

The word "Shougang" (Chinese: 首钢) came from the previous name of the corporation (Chinese: 首都钢铁公司; pinyin: Shǒudū gāngtiě gōngsī; literally: "Capital Iron and Steel Corporation").
Company History
Shougang was founded in 1919, with accelerated growth since the founding of People's Republic of China.
