Shonelle Jackson

Shonelle Jackson is an American death row inmate currently incarcerated in Alabama. In 1997, at the age of 19, Jackson was imprisoned for a gang-related murder that occurred in Montgomery, Alabama. In his sentencing the judge assigned to the case, William Gordon, overruled the jury's decision not to sentence Jackson to death, which is allowed under Alabama state law. All jurors in the case determined that Jackson should not receive the death penalty; some also expressed doubt that Jackson was guilty at all.
