Shivang Mehta

A formal journalist and PR professional, Shivang Mehta left his corporate job to pursue his passion for wildlife and photography. Based out of Delhi, he now trains young amateur photographers and hones their wildlife photography skills. He has conducted more than 200 field programs across forests of India, Africa and Sri Lanka in collaboration with brands like Canon, SanDisk, National Geographic - to name a few.

Shivang Mehta is currently the official brand ambassador of Canon India and proactively promotes the culture of photography in India


In 2010, he conceptualized Wild Clicks - India's only live photography contest - which gave amateur photographers of India to showcase their photographic skills in a unique competition with a live format. The event has had a successful run since then and has become an annual competition held in popular forests including Corbett National Park, Ranthambhore National Park, Kanha National Park, Pench National Park. Leading edge film-makers and photographers like Mike Pandey, S. Nalla Muthu and Ganesh H Shankar have been the jury for this event over the past years.


Shivang has won wildlife photography awards and is a regular contributor to some of the leading publications on wildlife and travel

Early career

A graduate from Sri Ram College of Commerce (Delhi University), he worked as a journalist with Business & Economy magazine and as a PR professional serving companies like Bharti Telesoft, Evalueserve, Google, VeriSign. After 8 years in the field of PR and journalism, he left the corporate world to form his company Nature Wanderers which now imparts field wildlife training and conducts wildlife photography tours across India.

Current Work

Apart from freelance photography projects, Shivang is the Managing Director of Nature Wanderers (www.naturewanderers.com). In this capacity, he along with a team of photographers conducts field photography workshops in India, Sri Lanka, Africa. He has also handled line production and locations for film projects including Mike Pandey's ongoing Return of the Tiger film. He is also involved in conservation projects in the Uttrakhand region.
