Hawaldar Shish Ram Gill (1961–1999), Vir Chakra, was in 8th Jat Regiment of the Indian Army. He was born at village Vishanpura in Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan in India. He was born in a Hindu Jat family to his father Shankara and mother Rajkauri but brought up by Ram and Suraji Devi as adopted son.

As Hawaldar in 8th Jat Regiment, he was driving away the Pakistani intruders in Mushkoh valley during Kargil War on 9 July 1999. He had driven away the Pakistani intruders beyond the Line of Control and killed five intruders. Meanwhile he was attacked and killed on 9 July 1999. He was awarded the gallantry award Vir Chakra for his acts of bravery in the Kargil War.

His wife was Santara. He left behind two sons Vijay Singh and Kailash Singh along with a daughter Dimpal.
