History

The club was founded as Shirebrook Colliery, and joined the Central Midlands League. In 1985–86 they won the Senior Division, and were promoted to Division One. In their first season in Division One, they finished second, and were promoted to the Premier Division.

In 1993 the club changed its name to Shirebrook Town. They won the Supreme Division of the Central Midlands League in 2000–01, but were not promoted due to ground grading issues. The following season they won the league again, and this time were promoted to the First Division of the Northern Counties East League. After finishing as runners-up in their first season, they were not promoted due to ground issues. However, the following season (2003–04) they won Division One, and were promoted to the Premier Division, where they remained until 2010.

The club was relegated back to Division One at the end of the 2009–10 season.

After spending most of the 2010–11 and 2011–12 season in the middle part of the table former player Gary Castledine was appointed manager after former manager Micky Taylor left the club to take over at newly formed club AFC Mansfield. However Gary reign didn't last long and after 10 games of 3 wins and 7 loses he was sacked by the club and replaced by formed Sheffield FC manager Mark Shaw, who managed to guide the club to a respectable 6th position however during the close season Mark left to take over at Evo-Stick side Worksop Town.

2013-14

Former Hallam FC manager Julian Watts took over, and after a good start to the season a difficult October saw Watts sacked by the club and replaced by former Rainworth MW manager Kevin Gee, however due bored room disagreements Gee was sacked by the club on February 1, 2014 he was replaced by his assistant Mark Camm who was assisted by Danny Bacon. They guided the club to a 5th-place finish.

2014-15

The club got off to a very poor start which led to manager Mark Camm resigning after 10 games. The club then reappointed former manager Julian Watts as manager and Ady Smith as his assistant on 14 September 2014 Watts guided the club to a 4th-place finish but left at the end of the season to take over at Rainworth Miners Welfare and was replaced by former Clipstone FC manager Chris Millington however Millington had to leave the club 3 months after taking over and was replaced by Russ Eagle.

In March 2017 the club appointed former FC Samba and AFC villa manager Ryan Davies although only 21 Davies has an incredible record despite his age winning 4 NAA Leauge titles and 4 NAA League cup wins in his four years in Management as well as leading both of his former clubs to the last qualifying round of the FA cup Davies is rumored to be bringing in the staff who worked under him at Samba and Villa these staff include Angus Macintosh also John and Darren Sheppard The following is what Shirebrook Town Acting Chairwoman Aimee Radford had to say about the appointment " We are pleased that Ryan has chosen to continue his managerial career with us at Langwith Road he brings a vast amount of experience to the role and we are confident that his new ideas and Positive outlook on football will lead the club in both the short and long term so myself and the board are pleased to have got such an incredible and talented manager

Davies had the first game of his tenure against Selby on Tuesday night this match ended 1-0 to Shirebrook with Gareth Taylor scoring a diving header after 43 minutes getting on the end of an excellent cross from brother Craig
