After she returned to India from the US in 1990, she set up her own architecture firm, SJK Architects, and designed and built a large number of industrial buildings, residential houses, institutional complexes and interior designs. She has 15 women employees in her firm. Important buildings she has designed include: the showroom of FabIndia in Mumbai; an export office of the Synergy textile complex, in an industrial area which was damaged during a riot; and a restaurant called the Thai Me Up for Suneil Shetty. She planned and built a five floor building complex in a narrow space of 16 m width covering an area of 600 square metres bounded on three sides by residential buildings. She designed and built it at a cost of Rs 150 million with ventilation, natural lighting and occupancy space. The occupancy consists of an Ayurveda facility with rooms for nursing, a beauty salon, a health club and an auditorium in the basement. She received a jury mention of arcVision Prize 2014 for her design of the Nirvana office complex of an ad film production firm. In 2016, at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, she won the Prix Versailles (restaurants category) and the special prize for an exterior (hotels category), regarding her work for Lotus Cafe and Dasavatara Hotel in Tirupati.
