Early life
Shilpa was live in South Africa and did her schooling from there. Later she moved to India and studied at Panjab University from 2000 to 2003, obtaining a Masters in Computer Applications (MCA). She has an elder sister Sakshi Shivanand, also a film actress of South Indian industry.
Career
Shilpa has done over 40 commercials with many famous Bollywood actors. Shilpa played the role of first riddhima in the show Dill Mill Gayye, in which she used to play the lead protagonist of Dr. Riddhima Gupta which made her a popular face of the TV world. Her contract with the production house ended in June 2008 and this consequenced her leaving the show and her role of Dr. Riddhima Gupta. Shilpa Anand returned to Dill Mill Gaye in June 2010. After two years of absence and producer's insistence she signed a contract for her return in the show in June 2010. The show ended on Oct 29, 2010. In 2012, she played the role of Meera in the anthology series Teri Meri Love Stories. In 2013, she was seen in the film Bloody Isshq.
In 2015, she was seen in the special episode of BIG Magic's show Mahisagar.
