Kafur executed all the princes having any claim to the throne. The eyes of Princes Khizr Khan and Shadi Khan were ordered to be cut out. Prince Mubarrak was detained in the Palace of Thousand Pillars but escaped using his cleverness. Nobles and Slaves of Allauddin were also punished. Kafur ruled for 35–36 days before being assassinated by Allauddin's bodyguards. In April 1316 Prince Mubarrak detained Shibabuddin and became the Sultan.
