Shearer West is a British-American art-historian, academic and university administrator. She is currently the deputy vice-chancellor of the University of Sheffield and in May 2017, she was announced as the new Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nottingham, to take office in October 2017.

West holds an undergraduate degree in art history and English from the College of William & Mary, in Virginia, and a PhD in art history from the University of St Andrews.
