Early life
Fonteno was raised in Watts, Los Angeles. He joined gangs and sold drugs, but a near-fatal shooting prompted him to seek a career in music and acting. He is cousins with Young Maylay, who voiced Carl Johnson, the protagonist of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
