Shauna Rae Richardson (née DeBono; born January 3, 1989) is an American actress and model.

Early years

Richardson was born in Mountain View, California. She was raised in San Jose, California where she attended Branham High School. She was heavily involved in acting in their drama department and was the recipient of the 2007 Bank of America Achievement Award in the field of Drama. She went on to earn her associate degree in Liberal Arts with an Emphasis in Arts and Humanities at West Valley College.

Career

During this time Richardson was signed with an agency in San Francisco, where she was soon booked as a model for Levi Strauss & Co. where she represented the 'slight curve' when the company rolled out its Curve ID Campaign. Richardson represented the line both in New York and Los Angeles presenting for Amy Astley, editor-in-chief of Teen Vogue and Alexis Bryan Morgan, executive fashion director of Lucky.

In 2011, Richardson was cast in the web series 'The Uploaders' as Tina. She also appeared in the film "True Blue" that was directed by Peter Horton alongside Poppy Montgomery and Scott Foley. In 2012, she co-wrote and starred in another web series entitled "Ethereal", which was filmed in Modesto, California. Due to budget and other constraints, only the pilot was filmed which can still be seen on YouTube. Richardson was cast as Donna Buchanan in the first episode of season 3 of the hit documentary television series Wives with Knives on Investigation Discovery. Richardson's first theatrical appearance was in the film San Andreas directed by Brad Peyton opposite Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Carla Gugino, and Alexandra Daddario.

In September 2014, Richardson filmed an episode of Sex Sent Me To The Slammer on Investigation Discovery. Shortly after, Richardson starred in the film Cross Cut, which premiered in April 2015. Richardson was featured in the independent film "The Wizard" opposite Lia Marie Johnson and George Kosturos. Within months, Richardson was hand picked out of several actresses by director Nancy Hamilton Myers for the role of Dawn in the real-life drama "We Promised". Richardson went on to film the independent drama "Helen's Last Love" opposite Family Affair actress Kathy Garver. Richardson is also starring in the web series "Studio 12" which is currently in production. Richardson wrote, directed, and starred in the short film "Fault", which is currently in post-production. She is signed to two films that are set to film in 2017.

Richardson has also been featured in advertising and promotions for LG, Heirloom, Zmodo, Zinus, Square and ParentPro.

Activism

Richardson frequently uses her Twitter, Instagram, and her official blog to help raise awareness for a variety of movements and campaigns. Richardson is an avid supporter of the True Beauty Campaign that is headed by spokesperson Shantel VanSanten, which raises awareness for eating disorders. Richardson shared her story about her long battle with anorexia and eventual recovery from it through the campaign as a contributor. Richardson is also a huge fan of Smart Girls, which was created by Amy Poehler. She has also shown support for the Beagle Freedom Project. Richardson was formerly an official monthly contributor to the I Am That Girl movement.

Richardson, heavily interested in politics, supported Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton and pushed back film projects to help her campaign in Las Vegas, Nevada. Richardson went on to campaign for Clinton in Seattle, Washington while also working for her in Alaska. After Clinton won the Democratic primary, Richardson signed on as the digital director for Clinton in Maine, which became a battleground state in the 2016 presidential election. Clinton ended up winning the state.

Richardson went on to support and provide digital strategy for Adam Parkhomenko, a longtime aide for Clinton, in his run for DNC Vice Chair.

Personal life

Richardson resides in California. She is an avid horseback rider and in her spare time loves writing, photography, and volunteering with animals. She has a cat named Cohen.
