Childhood and Teenage Years

Shane Krauser was born on January 10, 1971 in Tempe, Arizona, the son of Erna Hannelore (Krauser) and John Turner Calhoon. His parents divorced in 1979, and Krauser and his younger sibling lived with their father for three years until 1983. From 1983 throughout his teenage years, Krauser resided with his mother, who married Richard Holl Arnold.

At the age of 14, Krauser began breeding, training, and showing purebred dogs across the United States, which included a trip in 1986 to Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York to showcase one of his qualifying dogs at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. During high school, Krauser ran cross-country and track. Shane graduated from Westwood High School in Mesa, Arizona in 1989.

Religion

Krauser is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a missionary in the Germany-Munich Mission from January 1990 though March 1992. Krauser has spoken to multiple LDS congregations at "firesides" on the U.S. Constitution.

Education

Krauser received his Bachelor's degree from Arizona State University in 1996 and his Juris Doctor (law) degree from the University of Utah (S.J. Quinney College of Law) in 2001. While in law school, Krauser was on the National Moot Court Team and won the award for Best Brief during the qualifying competition. He was also on the Board of Editors for the Journal of Law and Family Studies and was a research assistant to Professor Paul Cassell.

Career

Shane Krauser is an adjunct professor of criminal and constitutional law at Glendale Community College and the University of Phoenix. He has also taught criminal law at the University of Utah (S.J. Quinney College of Law).

Krauser worked as a prosecutor for nearly 12 years with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office in Phoenix, Arizona and retired in February 2013. He worked as a partner with the law firm of Davis Miles McGuire Gardner in Tempe, Arizona from March 2013 to September 2014.

In 2009, Krauser founded the American Academy for Constitution Education (AAFCE), a not-for-profit organization committed to educating people about the United States Constitution. AAFCE’s motto is: “We exist to inspire others to achieve the American Ideal through teaching liberty, American exceptionalism, and the dangers of abandoning our charters of freedom.” In conjunction with his focus on the Constitution, Krauser authored two books, Your Nation to Save, an in-depth analysis of the U.S. Constitution, and What is Freedom? Is it for You?

Krauser began hosting a national daily radio talk show, "Liberty Storm with Shane Krauser," on We Are America Radio in December 2014. Prior to that, he hosted a program on Blog Talk Radio from August 2014 to November 2014. He hosted a daily radio talk show on 1100 AM KFNX in Phoenix, Arizona from February 2014 through August 2014. He hosted a weekend radio program on 960 AM KKNT in Phoenix, Arizona from July 2012 through January 2014.

Krauser serves as the chief instructor with K-Force Vanguard, which specializes in responsible gun ownership and personal protection. He has served in this capacity since 2008.

In October 2014, Krauser began working as an independent member of Life Leadership.

Attorney

Upon graduating from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law in 2001, Krauser began his work as a prosecutor with the Maricopa County Attorney's Office in Phoenix, Arizona. During his tenure, he worked in a number of different areas, including the Preliminary Hearing Bureau, the Probation Violation Bureau, the Trial Division, and the Gang/Repeat Offender Bureau.

Krauser handled a number of high-profile cases, including the prosecution of Mike Tyson (former heavyweight boxing champion), Luis Sharpe (former Pro Bowl defensive tackle for the Arizona Cardinals), numerous gang and criminal syndicates, and death penalty eligible cases. He spent his final three years as a supervising attorney in the Pretrial Bureau. Krauser retired as a prosecutor in February 2013.

Adjunct Professor and Instructor

While in law school at the University of Utah, during 2000-2001, Krauser worked as a professorial assistant to Professor Ronald Boyce. He taught Substantive Criminal Law to incoming law students.

In 2004, Krauser began teaching Constitutional Law, Substantive Criminal Law, and Criminal Justice at Glendale Community College in Glendale, Arizona. In 2009, he began teaching Criminal Procedure, Legal Issues in Justice and Security, and Business Law at the University of Phoenix in Phoenix, Arizona.

From 2006 to 2008, Krauser was a guest lecturer at the Phoenix Police Academy in Phoenix, Arizona. He taught "Courtroom Presentation" and "Criminal Procedure." In 2011, Krauser began teaching "Courtroom Presentation" and "Confessions and Interrogation" at the Law Enforcement Training Academy in Glendale, Arizona.

American Academy for Constitutional Education

In 2009, Krauser began traveling and speaking on issues relating to the United States Constitution. He has spoken to hundreds of grassroots organization, political coalitions and federations, social and philanthropic clubs, private and public schools, and churches.

In May 2014, the American Academy for Constitutional Education was granted non-profit 501(c)(3) status. Krauser testified in front of the Arizona Delegation of U.S. Congress about the 29-month-long delay in the application for this status

Krauser has participated and spoken at numerous events across the country including Raise the Standard with Glenn Beck in Phoenix, Arizona (2013), Constitution Under Fire with Hugh Hewitt and Mark Levin in Phoenix, Arizona (2013), and Freedom Rally with presidential candidate Gary Johnson at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona (2012).

Krauser has also moderated numerous debates among politicians and activists.

Krauser has offered political commentary through multiple mediums, including television, radio, and opinion columns.

Radio Personality

Krauser began hosting a national daily radio talk show, "Liberty Storm with Shane Krauser," on We Are America Radio (WAARadio) in December 2014. Author

Krauser has authored and published two books. "Your Nation to Save" was published in 2012 and "What is Freedom? Is it for You?" was published in 2015. He also wrote the foreword for the book entitled "What Would the Founding Fathers Think?" by David Bowman.

Freedom Fires

Since March 2014, Krauser has been the primary content contributor to Freedom Fires, which is an educational website that focuses on American history, the U.S. Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, current events, and grassroots coordination efforts.

Firearms Instructor

Since 2008, Krauser has been the chief instructor of K-Force Vanguard in Arizona. He is a certified NRA Instructor, holding the certifications for Home Firearm Safety, Basic Pistol, and Personal Protection in the Home.

Securities Violations

In September 2014, the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) sanctioned Krauser for securities violations, alleging he misused investor money. The conduct under investigation took place in 2007 through 2009. Krauser borrowed money from three individuals that he knew. All parties signed promissory notes, and there were no explicit stipulations contained in the promissory notes on how the money would be used.

The ACC, through a civil administrative proceeding, determined that the promissory notes were securities. Krauser satisfied 100% of the civil judgment.
