Dr. Shailendra Raj Mehta (born 9 July 1959) is an Indian Economist, who has done extensive research in the areas of Entrepreneurship, Industrial Organization, Information Economics and Experimental Economics. He is currently the Chairman of the Board of Management at Auro University. He is also the President and Director of MICA college, Ahmedabad

He completed his PHD at Harvard University in 1990. From 1997 to 2004, Mehta was assistant professor of economics at the Krannert School of Management, Purdue University, and was a director of the Krannert School of Management's Entrepreneurship initiative. He taught a wide range of topics from Economics of uncertainty to Macroeconomic theory. During this period he was also co-director of Simulex Inc.

2006 onwards Shailendra Mehta has been a visiting professor for business policy at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. From 2006-12 he was the academic director of Duke’s Corporate Education arm and regional managing director, India Middle east and West Asia of the same arm. He served as Provost/Vice Chancellor of Ahmedabad University and is currently Chairman of the Board of Management at Auro University.
