Early Years

He was a standout for Belleville West High School, where he was a four-year varsity letter winner. Rudolph holds the record for most career goals at Belleville West with 53 over his four years, and, during his senior year, he broke the single-season goal record at Belleville West with 23. Rudolph won numerous awards in high school. He was selected as a member of the Illinois All-State and All-Sectional team, was a member of the All-Conference team three times, and was recognized as an All-Metro player by the St. Louis Post Dispatch twice. Rudolph also played for St. Louis Scott Gallagher-Metro and was a part of the Academy program where he played under Dale Schilly and Blake Decker. He scored 19 goals in his final season with the U18 SLSG-Metro Academy, and he scored a goal against the U17 United States Men's National Team. His performance was recognized by making him a member of the Central Conference Starting XI.

College

After high school, Rudolph went to play for George Washington University in D.C. He saw a lot of success with the Colonials, appearing in 70 games and starting 50 of them. Rudolph was also the team captain his senior year. He accumulated 29 goals over his four years making him the 7th all-time scorer at George Washington. Rudolph also earned the honor of being named on the A-10 All-Rookie team his freshman year. That award would precede him being named to the A-10 All-Conference team twice.

Sandvikens IF

On July 12, 2013, Seth Rudolph signed a professional contract with Sandvikens IF in Sweden. This makes Rudolph the first Saint Louis Scott Gallagher-Metro Academy alum to sign a professional contract. He got the trial after contacting former George Washington teammate, Andy Stadler, who had been playing with Sandvikens for a few years prior to Rudolph getting a trial with the team and eventually making the first team. Rudolph scored his first goal for Sandvikens on August 17, 2013 in league match against Valsta Syrianska IK. This game was also his first multi-goal game. He scored both of Sandvikens' goals in the 4-2 defeat. He also scored a goal in the Swedish Cup against AIK Stockholm. His goal was the first of Sandvikens' that lead to a 3-2 overtime win over the favored AIK Stockholm.
