Seth A. Hutchinson is an American Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is best known for his book Principles of Robot Motion - Theory, Algorithms, and Implementations, co-authored with Howie Choset, Kevin M. Lynch, George Kantor, Wolfram Burgard, Lydia E. Kavraki and Sebastian Thrun.
He has been editor-in-chief of the journal IEEE Transactions on Robotics since September 2008.
He is a semi-professional bass player.
