Layout
The station has two island platforms serving four tracks:
- Biwako Line for Kyoto and Osaka (partly)
- Biwako Line for Kyoto and Osaka
- Biwako Line for Kusatsu and Maibara
- Kusatsu Line for Kusatsu and Kibukawa
The ticket windows and gates are located in the building above the platforms.
History
The station opened on August 12, 1969. From the beginning, there was no freight service at this station.
