Sergio Esquenazi (Buenos Aires, Argentina, 27 October 1974) is an Argentine filmmaker. He is one of the greatest exponents of movement known as horrAR which emerged in mid-2000. His films combine the genres of horror and psychological thriller.

Biography

He began his career when he was 20 years old, directing commercials in the USA. Back in his country wrote and directed television shows. After helming Black Code, a crime drama series that was the highest rated network show in its time slot, Sergio went on to write and direct his first feature film, Dead Line, in English language, distributed in over 30 countries. After Dead Line he made Bone Breaker (2005) also in English language. His first feature film in Spanish language was the Spanish-Argentine production Winter Visitor (Visitante de Invierno), the first horror film to land theatrical release in Argentina in twenty years. The film tackles issues such as insanity, reincarnation and cannibalism. After Winter Visitor, he shot Number 8 (2008), starring Diego Alonso Gómez and the international model Sofía Zámolo.
