Sera N. Dogramaci (born 4 June 1983) is a Turkish-Australian women's ice hockey player. Currently, she is a member of Blueline Bombers team playing as goaltender. She takes part in the Turkey women's national ice hockey team. Catching left-handed, she is 1.65 m (5 ft 5 in) tall at 55 kg (121 lb). Dogramaci serves also as a lecturer for sport science.

Early life

Sera N. Dogramaci was born in Sydney, Australia on 4 June 1983. She was schooled in The Hills Grammar School in 1992. After graduating with a high school certificate in 2000, she attended University of Technology, Sydney in 2001. Dogramci finished her higher education with honors in Human Movement Studies gaining a B.A. degree in 2004.

From 2004 to 2006, Dogramaci served as sport psychology administrator at the New South Wales Institute of Sport. In 2006, she went to Turkey, where she lived until 2009.

Scientific career

Following her return to Australia in 2009, she pursued a scientific career, and continued with her research work, which she had commenced in 2005. In 2010, she earned a PhD degree from the School of Leisure, Sport & Tourism at the Faculty of Business of her alma mater upon her thesis "Subjective notational analysis and its use in team sports with special reference to futsal" that compares match performance of futsal teams in Brazil, Spain and Australia.

Currently, she workes as a full-time research coordinator in Sports Science at the New South Wales Institute of Sport, which she entered again in 2009. In July 2010, she was appointed lecturer and tutor at the Australian College of Physical Education. She is also part of the editorial team at the International Journal of Sports Science & Coaching.

Sport career

In addition to her scientific and educational activities, Dogramci is an ice hockey player and goaltending coach.

Club

In the time she was in Turkey, Dogramaci played for the Ankara-based teams Baskent Yildizlari and ODTU Spor Kulubu (2008–09).

She played for Pearly Gates (2012). Until the and of 2013-14 season, Dogramaci played as goaltender for Sydney Sirens (known as the North Star Sirens from 2011 to 2013) in the Australian Women's Ice Hockey League. Occasionally, she took also part at the East Coast Super League (ECSL) juniors A teams, including ECSL Heat (2010–11, 2011–12 and 2012–13), ECSL Vipers (2011–12 and 2012–13) and Newcastle North Stars (2011–12). On 18 March 2014, Dogramaci was transferred by the 2014-established team Blueline Bombers.

During her time at the North Star Sirens, she acted also as the sponsorships coordinator of the club.

Dogramaci serves as the goaltending coach of the Canterbury Eagles Club's midget- and bantam-aged players since 2010. In January 2012, she was tasked with the position of goaltending coach for minors at the Ice Hockey Australia's national development camp.

International

Dogramaci was called up to the Australia women's national ice hockey team for the 2013 IIHF Women's World Championship Division II - Group A matches held in Auckland, New Zealand. However, she did not enter the squad.

Dogramaci played in the Turkey women's national ice hockey team at the 2014 IIHF Women's World Championship Division II Group B matches in Reykjavik, Iceland. She was selected Best Goalkeeper of the tournament by the Directorate.
