Senzu or Senzu Collective stylized as is a Los Angeles-based independent record label and artist collective, that was established on October 22, 2011. Artists on their roster include: Lytesho!, Scott Xylo, Alecks Awklr, ☿bluecrew☿, PLASTHMA, Pine Grove and slw.kng. In 2014, they released Infinite Lights Vol.01 Leyla, a fundraising compilation for American Kurdistan Information Network and the refugee Kurds in Iraq, Syria & Turkey.

History

Senzu is an artist collective/netlabel that started in 2011 as a community of musicians sharing music and creations and now acts a semi-label putting out digital releases from the underground. The collective currently runs as a donation based music label with plans of future physical releases .

Name

is the character used to designate their work, the word senzu is roughly translated as either:

  1. A sage or hermit, an enlightened person, usually immortal and ageless. (mythology)
  2. Short for 仙人 (sennin): a wizard or mage; an immortal living as a hermit in the mountains.
  3. By extension, the region or area where a sennin lives.
  4. The supernatural techniques for becoming immortal and ageless.
