The Sentinels of Magic is a fictional group of magically powered heroes that appear in comic books published by DC Comics. They first appeared in Day of Judgment #1 (November 1999), and were created by Geoff Johns and Matthew Dow Smith.

History

The team remained together after their first appearance, in order to safeguard reality from supernatural menaces. This included keeping a watch over the one weapon that could stop the Spectre, the Spear of Destiny.

Shadowpact

In the Infinite Crisis miniseries Day of Vengeance, six of DC's magical heroes, including Blue Devil, Enchantress, and Ragman, joined forces against the Spectre again. However, this team was called the Shadowpact.

Video games

  • The Sentinels of Magic appear in DC Universe Online. Its lineup consists of Doctor Fate, Raven, and Zatanna. In the hero campaign, the players help the Sentinels of Magic into preventing Brother Blood from bringing Trigon to Earth. Players on the hero campaign can gain their trust by completing certain missions and collecting bounties in order to gain access to the Vendors associated with the Sentinels of Magic. The foot soldiers for the Sentinels of Magic consist of Sentinel of Magic Apprentices, Sentinel of Magic Initiates, Sentinel of Magic Lightkeeper, Sentinel of Magic Mentors, Sentinel of Magic Sentries, and Sentinel of Magic Vanguards.
