The Senate will be the upper house of the Parliament of Ivory Coast. The Senate will be created after a new constitution was approved by a referendum in 2016.

History
The Senate is expected to first sit in 2017, after the first Ivorian senatorial election. Under the constitution the Senate is expected to represent the regions.
Electoral system
The Senate will have 120 seats, of which 80 will be elected and 40 appointed by the President, with each region having 3 or 4 Senators. The elected seats will be elected by members of municipal and regional councils.
