Security Trust Company of Rochester is a former bank headquartered in Rochester, New York.

History

Security Trust Company of Rochester was formed in 1892. Beginning in 1944, the bank began to grow through mergers with and acquisitions of other banks in western New York. In 1984, the company officially shortened its name to Security Trust Company, dropping the "of Rochester" from its name.

In late 1984, Security Trust Company was acquired by Norstar Bancorp and became Security Norstar Bank. In 1987 the bank was fully integrated into Norstar and dropped the "Security" from its name.

Norstar Bank was eventually purchased by Fleet Bank, a Boston-based financial institution that has since become a part of Bank of America. Southern Tier New York Branch, are now Community Bank N.A
