Sebastes melanostictus is a species of rockfish found in the North Pacific. It is commonly known as the blackspotted rockfish.
Distribution
S. melanostictus is found in the Pacific Ocean at about 35° North from Japan through the Kuril Islands and Aleutian Islands, and the Bering Sea to about 60.5° North. The southern extent of its distribution is at 32.6° North, around the Southern California Bight.
