Course

Seaford Golf Club's downland golf course was designed by J.H. Taylor. From the back tees, the total yardage is 6546 for all eighteen holes, with a par of 69 and a standard stroke index of 71. The third, seventh, twelfth and fifteenth hole are par 3's, the sixteenth hole is a par 5 and the rest are all par 4's. Due to the course being well above sea level, the wind often has a major effect. Apart from stunning backdrops of the Downs and the English Channel, the course offers a stern test and has been regularly featured in many collections of the great courses of the country. It remains one of the most admired downland courses in the country and arguably the best in the South East of England.

Clubhouse

The clubhouse was opened in 1907, just after the course moved location. Much of the clubhouse got redeveloped recently, with a second lounge bar and a longer dining room that overlooks the course added. The clubhouse also provides locker rooms for the players, a snooker table and a television room. On top of the clubhouse is the Dormy House, which can accommodate twenty golfers. It is only open from March to November. Regular social functions are held in the clubhouse as well as weekly bridge evenings etc.

Other Facilities

As well as the standard eighteen holes, there are also two alternative ones, 17a and 18a. These allow players to play a reduced round of 11 holes, the front nine and then the two additional holes without having to filter in on the normal back nine. The club also has an extensive practice range, a substantial chipping area with three flags and a putting green. A recent addition are three short par three holes for practice. These are from sixty five yards to just over one hundred yards, excellent for polishing the short game. The club facilities offer generous facilities which are much utilised by local societies and organisations wanting comfortable surroundings and good food set in lovely countryside.
