Plot
Local adventure writer and former hunter John Weatherby (Peter Graves) is called in to investigate a series of brutal murders that has the sheriff confused. The clues are not clear and leave no clear trail. The tracks left at the murder site appear to be that of a wolf, but then change into human footprints. The townspeople begin to believe that it is a werewolf. Lost in his search for answers but disbelieving the werewolf theory, Weatherby contacts his old friend Byron (Clint Walker), a mysterious big game hunter and a recluse with strange ideas, who was once bitten by a wolf, to help him track this unknown killer. Byron repeatedly refuses to get involved, but then agrees to help find the beast in a nighttime hunt, with an unexpected conclusion for all.
