Scott Mitic (born February 13, 1970) is an American identity theft expert, author and businessman. He is regularly quoted on topics related to identity theft, consumer credit and credit scores. A sampling of his work includes appearances on United States-based television and radio programming such as FOX, ABC, and CNBC, Oprah & Friends, National Public Radio and Public Radio International. In addition, he has been quoted extensively in American news print publications such as The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Readers Digest, USA Today, Chicago Tribune, The Miami Herald, The Washington Post, The San Francisco Chronicle San Jose Mercury News, Newsweek, Time Magazine, and INC Magazine.

Mitic grew up in Maryland and attended McGill University in Montreal, Canada and Georgetown University in Washington DC. In 1998, he co-founded Headlight.com, an online learning company, which he grew until its sale in 2001. In 2002, he became an executive at FICO, growing the company's consumer credit education services, MyFICO.com. His family's repeated experiences with identity theft led to the founding of the identity theft protection company, TrustedID, in 2004. Mitic is currently Chief Executive Officer of the company.
