Scott cole
Scott Cole (born February 20, 1962) specializes in T'ai chi, yoga, general fitness, children's fitness, strength, and mobility training for the elderly and the physically challenged. Cole founded Get Fit America movement that seeks to reduce the incidence of childhood obesity in the United States.

As of 2012 Cole resided in Palm Springs, California, where he devotes his life to increasing America's overall "wellness literacy". He was named one of the "top 5 fitness instructors in the world" by IDEA and the Association of Fitness Professionals & Associates (AFPA) and was featured in The Wall Street Journal as one of the US' leading fitness experts in T'ai chi and qigong.

Early career

Born in Houston, Texas, Cole was an athlete in school, and he played basketball and tennis—in high school, Cole began studying acting. He later graduated from the McCombs School of Business (BBA, International Business 1984) at the University of Texas at Austin.

Cole was a Texas Longhorns Head Cheerleader, leading the squad to a 2nd place National finish at the National Cheerleaders Association College Championship in 1983. In 1987, he and his choreographed trio appeared on ESPN for their victory at the Crystal Light National Aerobic Championship—Cole's team was the first all-male competitor to win in the history of the championship. Following the ESPN coverage, Cole appeared in print publications USA Weekend, Men's Fitness, and Shape; Cole was photographed in a 1987 edition of Shape magazine carrying Jane Fonda onstage for her Fitness Lifetime Achievement Award.
Travel and video

After traveling to over 30 countries teaching aerobics, health and fitness as an American Council on Exercise and Aerobics and Fitness Association of America certified fitness instructor, Cole starred in the Buns of Steel video series, starring in Abs of Steel 2 for Men and Buns of Steel Power Stretch. He is an AAAI-ISMA certified fitness trainer. Over the following years, the "Abs of Steel Guru" incorporated Eastern disciplines such as T'ai chi and yoga into aerobics-based workout routines. Scott landed the starring role in the Discover Tai Chi series that he now owns and produces video and DVD programs including dance, martial arts, yoga, t'ai chi, qigong, strength, cardio, stretching, mobility, flexibility, and child and senior fitness.
Brand promotion

A number of corporations marketing fitness products such as Nike and LA Gear have worked with Scott Cole to bring their messages of fitness and wellness to the masses, as have food and beverage makers such as Snapple. Scott served as a Nike Fitness Athlete and was the co-creator of Nike Stretch. Scott choreographed Italy's Zegna Sport fashion show on Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills in the high-profile "Vogue Takes Beverly Hills" event.
Public speaking and consultancy
Cole's home base is the Well Spirit Fitness Center in Palm Springs. He gives keynote speeches, motivational lectures, seminars, workshops and classes on fitness, health, stress reduction, and organic living.
Get Fit America For Kids
Scott received an AFAA Aerobics and Fitness Association of America Notable Award in 1991 for his work with abused children (Free Arts for Abused Children) and AIDS patients (Strength for the Journey Camps). Cole remains committed the education of children, both in fitness and wellness, but also in the arena of childhood obesity. To this end, he founded the Get Fit America for Kids movement and wrote articles to provide guidance for kids, parents and educators.
Media work
Cole is a regular contributor to publications (over 500 worldwide) including The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Shape (magazine), GQ, Men's Fitness, and Oprah's O Magazine.
Cole starred in and produced fitness videos beginning in 1989 with co-star Jeff Vandiver. His solo videos and DVDs include the acclaimed Abs of steel series Get Fit America for Kid's Workout was awarded the NAPPA award [2] for the Best Children's Fitness DVD.
Cole produced and published music for the fitness and yoga industries including over 20 collections of active and meditative music for group exercise primarily distributed through Dynamix Music with many soundtracks orchestrated by Daveed.
Cole appeared on television, internet, and radio shows including Live with Regis and Kelly, The View and The Early Show. He hosts a 'Weekly Wake Up To Wellness TV segment televised by CBS affiliate KPSP Local 2 in the Coachella Valley and is the co-author of the book, Athletic Abs.
In 2011, Cole became the Creative Editor of Going Organic Guide, seeking to teach organic lifestyle, food and product choices, with the goal of making the public aware and accountable that their actions, both as citizens and consumers, have a profound impact on our environment and on our society as a whole.
Modeling and acting
A print and runway model since age 18, Cole was represented by agencies such as Models of Houston, Kim Dawson Agency (Dallas), Wilhelmina Models West (Los Angeles) and as of 2012 was represented by CESD Talent Agency (Los Angeles). He is a member of SAG Screen Actors Guild and AFTRA.
