The specific name, reevesii, is in honor of English naturalist John Reeves.
Geographic range
S. reevesii is found in Bangladesh, China (Guangxi, Guangdong, Guizhou, Hainan, Hong Kong), Indochina, west to Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, south to Western Malaysia, India, and possibly Korea.
