Early life and career

Sayre Gomez was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1982. He received his BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2005 and his MFA from the California Institute of the Arts in 2008. Gomez was a student of the late Michael Asher.
Work

Sayre Gomez works in a variety of media including sculpture, sound, video, installation, and chiefly painting. His exhibitions reflect a highly considered approach to exhibition design. His paintings often site windows as a way to contextualize the imagery he uses.
