Saving Molly is a Post-Hardcore band formed in 2007 in Beijing, China. The band currently consisting vocalist Xi Lin Hu, guitarist Yang Lei, bass guitarist Li Hai and drummer Wu Tian Long. They are signed to Big Mic Records in China and released one EP, ‘Saving Molly’ on June 6, 2010 through Big Mic Records.

Formation (2007—2009)
Saving Molly was formed in Beijing, China in September 2007, with all of the members attending Beijing Contemporary Music Academy. the original line-up of Xi Lin Hu on vocals, Pan Lei on bass guitar, Li Wen Bo on drums, Hao Shuang on guitar and Wang Di on guitar.
The band quickly shot to prominence in their first show and participated on W:O:A Metal Battle (China) 2008 announced Best New Artist Award. After a while, Wang Di left the band and was replaced by Miao Yu Jia in August 2008. On October 11, 2008, Saving Molly was an opening band for 8th Anniversary of Painkiller Magazine and they have played at Tianjin Music Festival 2008 in November.
In April, 2009, they performance at a local show ‘Emo Lead Time’ at 13 Club in Beijing, their performance make the atmosphere of the show even more excited and to get media and record label attention. Reporters interview to the founder of the record label commented “Saving Molly performances can set off a layer of heat waves in the show wherever they were, the mood of the fans can be mobilized. on the one hand, their music very well, on the other hand, they show the lifestyle of the younger generation.” W:O:A Metal Battle (China) 2009 Opening Ceremony introduced Saving Molly is "The most popular band come to the fore of the first "Metal Battle", new forces of Post-Hardcore".
Saving Molly later signed to Big Mic Records in May, 2009. On Jun 19, 2009, they participated on W:O:A Metal Battle (China) 2009 announced Best Songwriting. In Summer 2009, Saving Molly performed at Summer Pilot Music Festival 2009, INMUSIC Festival 2009 and Beijing Youth Rock Tribe - Songzhuang Modern Music Festival 2009. In Autumn 2009, The group then recorded their debut EP, ‘Saving Molly’ was produced by Wang Min of The Falling. On 26 December 2009, they performed their first own concert "We're Coming To Hohhot!" held at Nuo Ma Bar in Hohhot.
Self-titled Debut EP and Hiatus (2010—2011)
Saving Molly's Special Limited Edition EP, ‘Saving Molly’ was released limited to 20 copies via Douban event page on January 4, 2010. They opened for Saosin during the band's 2010 Asia tour in Beijing. In April, 2010, they commenced a first tour "Rush Hour China Tour" performing in Qingdao, Nanjing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Guilin, Chengdu and Chongqing. Following the China Tour, they involved the band performing at Strawberry Music Festival 2010 and Beijing Midi Music Festival 2010.
On May 3, 2010, guitarist Hao Shuang, guitarist Qiao Kun and drummer Li Wen Bo played their last show as a part of Saving Molly. The performance was held at Beijing Midi Music Festival 2010. After the announcement of the band's hiatus, Saving Molly members moved on to other work, Xi Lin Hu and Hao Shuang back to his hometown Inner Mongolia; Qiao Kun launching a webstore Beautiful Head; Pan Lei and Li Wen Bo came back in their hometown Shenzhen launching a drum workshop. Big Mic Records released Saving Molly their debut EP, ‘Saving Molly’ on June 6, 2010 in China, digital released on Amazon and iTunes.
Reformation and First Studio Album (2011—2013)
Xi Lin Hu and Pan Lei asked Wu Tian Long and A Di A of Raving Radio to join Saving Molly. In September 2011, it was announced on their Weibo page that the band supported The Ocean on the China Tour 2011 in Beijing.
In Spring 2012, Saving Molly participated a project Core In China by Rock In China, a free download compilation of Chinese Metalcore, Deathcore, Nintendocore, Hardcore and Screamo bands that have been selected via an open song submission process from January to May 2012. The band decided on a new start, their musical style is mostly based around Post-Hardcore including Hardcore Punk genres. "A New Start" and "Z.F.S.N" being a brand new demo recorded and was produced by Ash of Shut Up!Shut Down!.
In June 2012, Li Hai (ex-bassist of Stay Gold) replaced Pan Lei on bass guitar then Saving Molly played at various festivals including the Beijing Midi Music Festival 2012 and Play Rock Music Festival 2012.
From August 29 to September 21, 2012, the band was a part of "South China Tour 2012" in Shanghai, Nanjing, Hefei, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Changsha, Kunming, Kaiyuan andWuhan. they uploaded a promotional video to their Weibo and Facebook. On September 9, 2012, originally scheduled for participated to the Orange Isle Music Festival, the British band Architects due to the musicians health reasons had to cancel the show. then the organizer invited Saving Molly to replace Architects in the morning, and their performance create the first large mosh pit at Orange Isle Festival 2012.
In November 2012, A Di A joined Thin Man and Four Five shortly after he left his position of guitarist in Saving Molly due to personal reason.
