Saroki is a village in the Gujrat District of Pakistan, on the Sargodha road just before the town of Kunjah. It is located on the bank of the Upper Jehlum canal, which runs into the Chenab river, one of the main five rivers in Punjab. There is also one hydroelectric power plant on this canal at the place of Shadiwal.

Shrine of Pir Syed Ahmad Hussain Shah saheb

Saroki is well known for the dargah (shrine) of Pir Syed Ahmad Hussain Shah, who migrated there from his native village of Mangowal Gharbi, which is also in Gujrat district. He was known as a great spiritual saint with immense influence in the surrounding villages. He hails from the family of Hafiz Syed Abdul Rahim Shah, who was also a very renowned sufi of Gujrat and contributed immensely to the spread of Islam from the late 19th century, when he was responsible for the conversion of up to 100 villages from Hindus to Muslims. Also Syed Arif Hussain Shah is buried alongside the Darbar. He was also a highly influential personality of Gujrat and Punjab level. He was highly gifted in the fields of religion, poetry, herbal medicine, and music and was bestowed with deep knowledge in various fields. His youger son Syed Jaffar Hussain died at a young age in 2010.His son Syed Husnain Arif is the present (sajadanasheen) of Darbar Sharif.

Demographics

The town has an average population of 10,000, and the town's main source of income is farming. The main tribe of the village is the Warraich and other little clans include Shehoporias, Malhi, Sheikhs, Cheemas, chaudharys, Tarhans, Kashmiris, Qutb Shahis and Khokhars.

Many of Saroki's residents are now working in the UK, Europe, United States, Dubai (Saudi Arabia) and the Far East. Apart from producing rice, the village is known for processing leather hides.
