History
The Seaboard Coast Line ran intercity train service to the station until 1971. The line to the city was ended as passenger train operations shifted to Amtrak.
Description
Amtrak provides "Amtrak Thruway" bus service to Tampa and Orlando. This originates from Ft. Myers.
As of April 24, 2006, (subject to change) the bus arrives at the corner of US 301 and Main St in downtown Sarasota at 8:10 AM and arrives at the Amtrak Station, 1800 Sligh Blvd, Orlando at 12:30 PM). The return bus from Orlando arrives at 5:30 PM.
