The main attraction is the castle, once a possession of the Novarese counts of Biandrate.
Near San Giorgio in San Giusto there is a Pininfarina factory.
Native of this town was Giorgio Orsolano (1803–35) one of the first Italian serial killers. He raped, murdered and maybe eaten three young girls and was executed by hanging. He was also named "La Jena di San Giorgio" (The hyena of San Giorgio) and "Mangiacristiani" (cannibal).
