Samuel D. Hodge, Jr. is a professor of Legal Studies at Temple University where he teaches both law and anatomy. He also serves as the Director of the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning. Professor Hodge teaches at all levels of University instruction including the Fox School of Business and Management, the Temple University Beasley School of Law and the Temple University Katz School of Medicine. Education

Hodge earned his undergraduate degree from the Philadelphia University in 1971. He received his J.D. from the Beasley School in 1974 and is a 1979 alumnus of the Graduate Legal Studies Division.

Hodge has also had post-graduate mediation training at the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University School of Law and in anatomy from the Temple University Katz School of Medicine.

Career as teacher, lawyer and presenter

Hodge has been the recipient of numerous teaching awards including the Temple University Great Teacher Award, the Musser Leadership Award in Teaching

and the Innovation in Teaching Technology Award. He was named a Master Teacher by the American Academy of Legal Medicine and The Academy of Teachers. His engaging teaching style has been the subject of stories in The New York Times, the Philadelphia Daily News, the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Chronicle of Higher Education, National Public Radio and television. Professor Hodge is a member of the American Association of Anatomists and the American College of Legal Medicine.

Hodge lectures for The Professional Education Group internationally on anatomy to audiences of lawyers, judges, physicians, governmental agencies and insurance professionals. His presentation 'Anatomy for Lawyers' has been attended by thousands of professionals and he won the Outstanding Achievement Award – Best Program category from the international Association for Continuing Legal Education (ACLEA). Hodge's research focus is in medicine and the relationship of trauma to personal injury. He has authored more than 150 articles in a variety of law and medical journals and has written six medical and two law related texts.

Hodge is a seasoned litigator who maintains an AV preeminent rating with Martindale-Hubbell and he has been named a top rated attorney in Pennsylvania on multiple occasions.
