Samuel Borchers (born May 25, 1988) is an Ohio-born athlete in track and field as well as cross country. Borchers set three Ohio High School Athletic Association Division III records in 2007 during his senior year at Yellow Springs High School in Yellow Springs, Ohio. These records, which still stand, are 1:51.54 for 800 meters, 4:10.83 for 1600 meters, and 7:48.39 as a member of the 4x800 meter relay.

In high school Borchers successfully defended his state title in the 1600 twice after his first championship as sophomore year in a time of 4:17.55 and 4:16.37 his senior year. Additionally, he claimed the state title in the 800 meter run his junior year in a time of 1:54.19 and his senior year in a time of 1:51.54. In his junior year, 2006, Borchers placed third in the Junior National Track and Field Championships 1500 meter run with a time of 3:46.32, the second fastest high school time that year, which converts to a 4:02.95 in the 1600 meter and a 4:04.36 in the mile which would better the all time Ohio high school record of former Olympian Bob Kennedy. In his senior year Borchers went on to win the Division III Ohio title in cross country and led his team to at the state meet. At the 2007 Nike Outdoor Nationals, won the mile in a time of 4:03.33, the fastest time ran by a high school athlete in 2007. Borchers went on to win the 2008 Big Ten Conference outdoor 1500 meter.
