Samsung Galaxy S series refers to the high-end/flagship Android smartphones in the Samsung Galaxy series and includes Super Smart devices of the Galaxy series, manufactured by Samsung Electronics.

The Samsung Galaxy S series has sold more than 177 million units, with Samsung Galaxy S selling over 25 million units, Samsung Galaxy S II selling over 40 million units, Samsung Galaxy S III selling over 60 million units, Samsung Galaxy S4 selling over 40 million units and finally over 12 million units of the Samsung Galaxy S5 were sold during its first three months of availability. Samsung Galaxy S

The Samsung Galaxy S was first released in June 2010.

Samsung Galaxy S II

The first smartphone with Samsung Exynos, 4.3-inch screen and dual-core CPU.

Samsung Galaxy S III

Samsung unveiled a larger smartphone with a 4.8-inch screen and quad-core CPU.

What's new:

    The Galaxy S4 was introduced with so many features the phone was called feature creep, and called innovation by power users.

    What's new:

  • IR Blaster: The phone is an universal remote control.
  • Smart Pause: The video pauses when nobody is looking at the screen.
  • Smart Rotation: The screen rotation blocks by itself detecting the face.
  • Smart Scroll: The webpage scrolls automatically by tilting the head or device.
  • Story Album: Make albums using photos from Gallery.
  • Barometer: Measure the altitude level.
  • Temperature: Measure the ambient temperature.
  • Humidity: Measure the ambient humidity percentage.
  • One-handed Mode: Use the phone with a single hand (available via update).

    The Galaxy S5 was introduced with new features and inherits the feature creep from Galaxy S4.

    The Galaxy S6 got rid of the Galaxy S4's feature creep and removed important features from Galaxy S5.

  • MicroSD support: Now supports up to 256GB.
  • Some mAh of battery: The battery is improved.

  • Samsung Galaxy S8

    Unlike ealier devices, the Galaxy S8 had major changes, the device was recently launched.

    What's new:

  • Iris scanner: Unlock the device by iris scanning.
  • Bixby: A replacement for S Voice.
  • Extra larger devices: The Galaxy S8 is a bit larger than Galaxy Note series and Galaxy S8+ is a bit smaller than Galaxy Mega, both with a difference of 0,1 inch.
