The Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) is an entry level smartphone released by Samsung in 2016 with 14 nm processor technology.

Hardware

Samsung Galaxy J7 comes with a removable back panel, metallic chrome diamond-designed frame and a metal-finish plastic back cover. On the front of the phone, there is a display of 5.5 inches with two capacitive buttons to switch between apps and a hardware home button just below the screen. Above the display, there is a 5MP camera with LED flash and a chrome grill covering the earpiece and sensors. It is having Samsung S5K3L2 CMOS camera sensor. On the right edge of the phone, there is a power button and there are volume keys are on the left edge of the phone. There is a 3.5mm headset jack and a micro-USB port at the bottom edge. On the back side of the handset, there are 1 slot for microSD Card and 2 slots for SIM Card and NFC Chip with a 3300mAh battery concealed under a plastic cover.

Samsung Galaxy J7 has a HD sAMOLED display with a resolution of 720×1280. The screen comes with scratch resistance glass, which according to Samsung is equivalent to Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Software

Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) comes with Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 version with Samsung's TouchWiz UI skin.

Samsung have confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) will officially get Android Nougat with Samsung's new Grace TouchWiz UX skin. It is expected to arrive in August 2017, as per Samsung Turkey.
