Samsenwittayalai School (Thai: โรงเรียนสามเสมวิทยาลัย) is a school in Thailand. It consists of two level of education,lower secondary education and higher secondary education, in a coeducational system.

The abbreviation of Samsenwittayalai School is "SS" (Thai abbreviation: ส.ส.). This school is located on Rama VI Road, Payathai, Bangkok, Thailand. The number of students in this school approximately 3,600 students. This school(Samsenwittalayi) has been in existence since 15 April 1955.

School symbol

The symbol consists of a beacon above an abbreviation of the school inside a circle. The mark also consists of a philosophy with the meaning of that philosophy written around the circle. The name of the school is on a green ribbon under the circle.

School flag

The symbol of the school is placed at the corner of a flag which is half pink and half green in color. The colors of the flag indicate that the colors of this school are pink and green.

History

In 1951, the Ministry of Education (Thailand) decided to build a school in Bangkok (previously called: พระนคร) named Rang Nam School (Thai: โรงเรียนรางน้ำ). On 20 December 1951, the Ministry of Education renamed this school as Sriayudhya School (Thai: โรงเรียนศรีอยุธยา).

On 15 April 1955, the Ministry of Education bought some land and separated the school into two locations. The name of this second school is Samsenwittayalai School (Thai: โรงเรียนสามเสนวิทยาลัย). Boys and girls were brought to study from grade 7 to grade 12 (Thai: มัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 1- 6). After that, this inauguration day was established as the school’s annual ceremony day.

Buildings

  • The 1st building was built in 1954. It was the first building of Samsenwittayalai School and was built at the same time as the school. This building consists of an agriculture classroom, greeting room, meeting room, old Samsenwittayalai student association room, nursing room, office of finance and asset management and office of student affairs.
  • The 2nd building (Science and Mathematics Building) was rebuilt since 1969, this building consists of science and mathematics classrooms for both lower secondary and higher secondary students, office of science, office of mathematics and office of academic administration. A flag of Thailand is in front of the building.
  • The 3rd building was rebuilt since 1974, it consists of an audiovisual room, ICT room, office of languages and office of society religion and culture. A shop and bank are on the 1st floor of the building.
  • The 4th building (Art building) was rebuilt since 1989, for now this building has a library on the 1st floor and consists of art and music classroom for student.
  • The 6th building (Gym) is use for physical education. They built a tennis court near the gym.
  • The 8th building (English program building) was built in 1964, this building used for English program student.
