Career

He is the son of an Anglican priest and a mother of five. His mother enrolled him at Escola Nacional de Música far from thinking he would ever choose music for a career. After several years working as a musician in Maputo and Cape Town, Samito moved to Montreal to pursue studies and a career in music. Here he had the opportunity to work with Nom de Plume, Renji Condoré, Kweku, The New Groove Orchestra, Emma & The Noise, among others.

Samito produced six tracks for the Juno nominated 2014 album Le Dernier Empereur Bantou by fellow Montrealer Pierre Kwenders. In 2015, along with artist Alexandre Arthur Bilodeau (aka Nom de Plume), he co-produced Tae Kwon Fu, a seven—song record of one—take workout sessions held in late 2013 by Allfire and Nom de Plume.

On May 27, 2016, he released his debut album, the self-titled Samito with his hit "Tiku la hina" from the album released as a single with an accompanying music video that has been broadcast on Canadian music channels Much and MusiquePlus.
