Sam Macaroni’s film Puppet Break-up, a collaboration with Ray William Johnson, got over 10 million hits in its first week on YouTube. It was the number one most-viewed movie on YouTube Sept 14, 2011.

Is part of YouTube's creator program and works closely with YouTube frequently. In October 2014, Macaroni was a guest on America's Funniest Home Video. It was announced in Variety that Macaroni formed a partnership with AFV and will be producing content for the long running show.

Has been in several of Bart Baker's videos including the "Wrecking Ball" parody, which, as of March 1, 2015, has nearly 65 million views.

Macaroni was selected by Tribeca Film Festival in 2012 to direct their short film "Seven Minutes to Save the World."

In November 2014, he was a guest speaker at the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and Variety (magazine) 3rd Annual Entertainment Conference in Hollywood, Ca. He spoke on the "Hollywood's New Stars" panel.

Macaroni hosted the Disney All Star Creator Conference at Walt Disney World. He also made a video for Walt Disney World where he was alone in the park and had it all to himself for a day.

In May 2015 Macaroni appeared in Singapore for YouTube Fan Fest, and also hosted Maker Bootcamp in association with the Singapore government. He mentored and taught local YouTube talent from Singapore.

Together, Sam Macaroni and his friend Roman Atwood made the first 360 degree video vlog ever to be uploaded on YouTube on June 4, 2015. The video was viewed over 3 million times in the first week.

Mainstream success

Macaroni stated in an interview on BreakingNYC with Ray William Johnson that he would be playing some characters on the new Beavis & Butthead coming to MTV in October, 2011. He played 6 characters on season 4 of Beavis & Butthead.

He has also worked with Zac Brown Band, having shot the music video for the song "Chicken Fried" with Clifton Collins, Jr.

Sam has partnered with Steve-O on several projects, both online and offline.

In November 2014 Macaroni was a guest on America's Funniest Home Videos and continues to work closely with the show.

In June 2015 He was the guest on The Adam Carolla Show.

He Executive Produced and appears in the Steve-O one-hour comedy special Guilty as Charged for Showtime Networks.

In 2017 he was hired as a writer on the television show "The Boondock Saints: Origins," based on the cult classic movie The Boondock Saints.

Virtual reality

Sam has written and directed several virtual reality films for Jaunt and The Walt Disney Company. Films include Wookie on Vacation, A Violent Afternoon and Junkbots.

He was featured in the Epic Games VR documentary Sense of Presence along with Palmer Luckey.

He partnered with The Walt Disney Company to produce the 360 cast interview for The Jungle Book (2016 film) with Jon Favreau, Lupita Nyong'o and Ben Kingsley.

In February 2016 he hosted a Virtual Reality workshop at USC for film students.. In 2017, he taught a VR course at Loyola Marymount University.

After directing VR experiences for Playboy and Electric Daisy Carnival, he directed and produced stand-alone Virtual Reality content for the feature film Ghosts of War (2017 film).
