Salman Akram Raja is the elder son of Senior Advocate of Supreme Court of Pakistan and member of the Lahore Bar Association, Raja Muhammad Akram (Late) Salman Akram Raja belongs to a notable Bangial Rajputs family of village Arazi Hasnal near Mandra, Tehsil Gujar Khan, District Rawalpindi.
In 1989,Salman Raja graduated from Downing College,Cambridge,and in 1994 he graduated from SOAS,University of London. In 2001,Salman Raja earned an LL.M.from Harvard Law School in Massachusetts.
Salman Akram Raja's younger brother Nomaan Akram Raja is also a lawyer and provide his services as a partner in multinational law firm, Latham & Watkins LLP Dubai.
Salman Raja has three daughters,his elder daughter is also a student of law in SOAS, University of London.
