The Salhani are the main clan (chiefs) of the Shar tribe in Khairpur, Pakistan and south Sindh (Sanghar, Nawab Shah, etc.). The name "Salhani" is named after Saleh Khan shar who migrated with his mother Dadi Gaunhri. Salhani live mainly in Khairpur. Raes Muhammad Saleh is the chief of the Shar tribe and belongs to the Salhani clan. Saleh khan becomes the chief of clan than his elder son Raes Jangoo khan shar.

History

Jangoo Khan Shar was the main person who lead the Shar tribe, he was very skhi person, and was one of the main chairholders (wazir) of Mirs of Hyderabad. He fought against burdi and formed a fort (Qilo) named Kot Jangoo at the border of the Sindh province and Balochistan. He had no offspring.

After Raes jangoo Khan, his brother Raes Jan Muhammad khan, younger son of saleh became chief. Then Raes Bilawal khan I "Sada" became the chief and was chairholder of mirs of Khairpur. Three canals are named after him which are: Sadarang, Bilawal wah and Saneso shakh. After him, Ghulam rasool became the chief and then Raes Ali Bux Khan Shar became the chief of Shar clan.

Raes Ali Bux Khan worked together with poor people through thick and thin and looked after peoples. He fought with the mirs of Khairpur to rid the slavery (chhair, wangaar). His name is written in golden words and lives in the hearts people. He died in 1932. After he died his brother Raes Nazim khan became the chief because his son was very young. But after 10 years Raes Nazim khan Shited his chiefton went to his nephew Raes Bilawal Khan II son of Raes Ali bux khan shar. After raes Bilawal his son Raes Muhammad Saleh Khan II is the chief of char.
