Saleemul Huq (Bengali: সালিমুল হক; born 2 October 1952) is a Bangladeshi scientist based in London. He is a Senior Fellow in the Climate Change Group at the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED).

Saleemul huq helping the most vulnerable to negotiate
Career

Before joining IIED, he was director of the Bangladesh Center for Advanced Studies, which he founded in 1984. He was founding director of the International Centre for Climate Change and Development at the Independent University, Bangladesh. Huq has been involved in the work of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, for which he has served as a Lead Author and Coordinating Lead Author in Working Group II, which focuses on impacts, vulnerability and adaptation.
He has published reports and articles on climate change, particularly on adaptation to climate change. He is lead author of the chapter on Adaptation and Sustainable Development in the third assessment report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
Awards and recognition
Huq was awarded the Burtoni Award in 2007 for his work on climate change adaptation.
