Salahlay is a town in the northwestern Woqooyi Galbeed province, situated in Somaliland. It is located around 70km south of the regional capital of Hargeisa, and 15km north of the Somaliland-Ethiopia border.

Overview
During Somaliland's second administration (1993-2002), Salahlay was incorporated as a district of Gaaroodi in the Woqooyi Galbeed region.
In the summer of 2007, the dominant local Ciidagale clan declared the city to be the capital of the Gaaroodi sub-region.
