Sakis Tanimanidis (Greek: Σάκης Τανιμανίδης; born 30 April 1981) is a Greek TV entertainer, producer, and serial entrepreneur. He was born and raised in Thessaloniki, Greece. Tanimanidis became known for the creation of the action-packed travel show "World Party", that aired on Alpha TV in Greece for three seasons, from 2014 to 2016.

In 2017, Tanimanidis was chosen to host the Greek version of the Global TV show, SURVIVOR. The show saw unmatched ratings with Tanimanidis' presence, reaching up to 63% ratings in just a few weeks after its start.

Early life

Tanimanidis was born in Thessaloniki, Greece in 30th of April 1981. His father, Stefanos Tanimanidis, is working in education and his mother Matoula Tanimanidou worked in Olympic Airways. Tanimanidis also has 2 siblings, an older brother, Panos Tanimanidis, and a younger sister, Kassiani Tanimanidou. Tanimanidis showed an interest in sports and in his young years he got involved with swimming, tennis and mainly basketball. Tanimanidis played basketball for 6 years in his neighborhood team Aetoi Kalamarias. Tanimanidis also started working from a young age in various jobs. At the age of 16 he worked as a waiter in Chalkidiki, in TV as a host in a local channel, as a bartender and in his father office helping out with the daily activities. Impressive enough Tanimanidis did most of that while studying in the university.

Education

Tanimanidis finished his bachelor degree in the Aristotle Polytechnic School of Thessaloniki as an engineer. He also completed his military service during his last year in college. After that at the age of 28 he moved to the Boston, USA to study his passion, business. He completed with honors the Babson College 2 year MBA (Master in Business Administration) with a focus in Entrepreneurship. During those years he also attended IE (Instituto de Empresa) in Madrid for one semester. Tanimanidis is a big fan of educating oneself, and he always pushes himself and the people around him to pursue constant self-improvement.

Career

Tanimanidis got into TV at the age of 20 when he got a hosting part in a show airing in the local channel of his city, Thessaloniki. He stayed there for a few years before deciding to quit and pursue his business career.

World Party (2013-2016)

After his return from his studies in the US, Tanimanidis created his own TV production company in order to fulfil his big dream: to create his own concept of a new breed of travel show. The name of his concept was the World Party. Together with his friends George and Teo, Tanimanidis started travelling the world, filming 55 episodes of the series, in more than 40 countries. Being a new entrepreneur Tanimanidis was also the producer and director of the show. The World Party became a huge success among the young people of Greece and Tanimanidis started being noted both from viewers and company managers.

Survivor (2017-present)

In 2017 Tanimanidis was chosen to host the Greek version of the Global TV show, SURVIVOR. The show is filmed in the Dominican Republic, and it saw unmatched ratings with Tanimanidis' presence, reaching up to 63% ratings in just a few weeks after its start.

Other businesses

Tanimanidis' passion was always business. Today he owns a travel agency focusing on unique experiences, the World Party Traveller. The philosophy of the WPT is trips that push people to live the world as travellers, and not see the world as tourists.

Tanimanidis also set up his TV production company offices in Athens, Greece. The company name, Baby Blue Project, is something that reminds him of his 2 greatest "loves": Greece and Idea Creation. With BBP he develops new TV concept ideas, TV and Advertising productions.

Tanimanidis is also involved in the food business, and he owns 2 restaurants in his home town Thessaloniki.

Personal Life

Tanimanidis met his girlfriend Christina Bompa through work. They first announced their relationship through Tanimanidis' Social Media. The couple is to be married sometime in 2017-2018.
