Sajid Khan Havelian (Urdu: ساجد خان‎) (born March 15, 1972) is a Pakistan Urdu writer. His short stories has been published under the title "Mujhe Roshni chahiye" and are being referred to as an important addition in Urdu literature.

Early life

Sajid Khan was born in Havelian, Abbottabad, a well known city of Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa, Pakistan. His grand father, Mir Muhammad Khan Kialwi was a renowned business man. His father, Sakhawat Khan Kialwi followed ancestor's business. Sajid Khan received his early education from Jinnah Public School and Government High School No 1 Havelian. He completed his Graduation from Government Degree College Havelian in 1996. Later on he obtained a degree of MA Islamic Study from the University of Peshawar in 1999 and MA Urdu from Hazara University in 2005. He is a regular employee of Education Department, Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa.

Literary career

Since 1996 Sajid Khan's writings are being published in different magazines and papers. His stories have been published in major literary journals of Pakistan. In May 2011, collection of short stories by Sajid Khan was published under the title of "مجھے روشنی چاہیے" Mujhe Roshni chahiye (I need a light) by Friends Publisher, Rawalpindi, which was highly appreciated by readers and critics. He also wrote columns for different newspapers on the several issues including social, religious, cultural, political and other aspects of life.
